Todd & Melanie

Todd & Melanie Peterson.
What a fun day we had yesterday at the wedding of Todd & Melanie Peterson. The wedding & ceremony took place at the Scottish Rite Consistory in downtown Des Moines, and was absolutely beautiful. After a week where every day it rained most of the day, Melanie & Todd couldn't have asked for a better day for late August, it was gorgeous. Melanie, Todd and their whole wedding party were some of the most fun people that we had ever photographed. They were up for anything, and it was great! By the time we finished the formals it was getting a little close to the ceremony to try to get some outdoor shots, but we made up for that later when we all went to a park near the Consistory and had a lot of fun.
The fun didn't stop there, man did these guys love to dance!
We want to thank you guys for the opportunity to photograph your wedding, we had such a great time. I hope that you have a wonderful time in Tahiti and I can't wait to hear all about it. Talk to you soon!

We're back

Hesitantly we boarded the plane for the long flight home. We were sad to leave such a wonderfully beautiful place but also happy that we were able to experience it. It was an amazing trip and one that we will not soon forget. From start to finish it was magical. We are going to have so many great memories from driving a manual transmission car on the “wrong” side of the road, waking up before dawn to watch the yellow eyed penguins leave their nest and venture into the ocean while the sun rose behind them, Stewart Island with it’s laid back attitude and wonderful people, viewing the literally thousands of waterfalls on our drive into Milford Sound, walking on New Zealand’s 2nd largest glacier, and our sea kayaking trip with our guide Eric who taught us so much about the native Maori people.
We wished that we could have stayed a few more weeks, but we’re glad to be home as well. There are more things that we would have liked to have done, but as we say on every trip these things give us a reason to go back one day and I do believe that we will go back.
I have an extreme amount of work to get finished but I will publish some photographs from the trip as soon as I can.

We're going to New Zealand!!

This is just a quick note to let everyone know that we are going to be gone on vacation for the next couple of weeks & the next time that I will be able to check my email will probably be on August 20th. Don't worry, we'll probably do nothing but think of the business while we are gone :) Hopefully we'll have some beautiful landscape portraits for sale in the near future, check back soon!

Chris & Jessie

On Friday night we had the privilege to take the pictures for some friends of ours Chris & Jessie. They are a great couple and love doing things just a little bit different than everyone else and that's something every photographer just loves! We had a great time and the rains held out for us so we were able to get some really nice outdoor photographs. You can just tell how in love these two are.

We want to wish the two of you all the luck and love in the world, good luck with school this fall Jessie, we know you are a wonderful teacher. Talk to you soon!

Drew & Kristy

What a fun wedding. Drew and Kristy are a couple from Chicago that contacted Inspired Images when they decided that they were going to have their wedding in Drew's hometown of Indianola. We're really happy that we did because we had such a fun time. The wedding went wonderfully and after a small road trip we made it back to the reception at Hotel Fort Des Moines.

The ballroom was beautifully decorated and very romantic.
The party soon got heated up and as soon as "Shout" came on I think everyone in the place was on the dance floor!
We hope that Drew & Kristy have a wonderful time on their honeymoon in Florida, and want to thank them very much for having Inspired Images as their photographers.

Matt & Lisa

The morning after Molly & Danny's wedding we had Matt & Lisa's engagement shoot. It was fortunate for us that they wanted them in the same location as the reception the night before. I was glad, not only was it a beautiful spot, but I had time to scope out some areas. We scheduled it for 9:00 AM, but I think we could have started at 7 and still been hot. I felt sorry for Matt & Lisa in their jeans and I hurried along so that we could get back where it was cooler.

Matt, I hope that you have better luck this weekend at the stock car races! Thanks guys, we'll talk to you soon.

Lucky #7

07/07/07 is the most popular day of the year for weddings. I was fortunate to have a wedding back in Maquoketa for some good friends of mine Molly & Danny Miller. These two are so in love and are just so darned cute together. Tara and I couldn't stop smiling all day and were really glad to be there.
Their reception was at the newly renovated Costello's Old Mill Gallery. A very quaint and unique location it was absolutely beautiful.

Thank you both so much for everything. We hope that you had the trip of a lifetime in Alaska!

Melanie & Todd

Thankfully we started our session out in the studio since Melanie & Todd picked a HOT night for pictures! We had a great time in the studio and I had a nice time talking to them about vacation plans. (Todd you still need to tell me your secret honeymoon location!)

Once finished we moved to a few locations near the studio. Luckily it was in the shade.

Thanks guys, talk to you soon!

Ed & Erin

Outdoor weddings can be an adventure and this one proved to be just that. The night before the wedding the weather turned for the worse and with tornados in the area it made everyone just a little bit on edge about the wedding the following day. Thankfully the rain gave way to very pleasant overcast skies and the wedding was able to proceed without issue. Set in the beautiful vineyards of the Summerset Winery it was a great location for an outdoor wedding. It was a great pleasure to be able to photograph Erin & Ed on their special day and we would like to thank them for the opportunity.

Taylor & Randi

One of the first couples to book with us for the 2007 season, Taylor and Randi made our second wedding of the year a fun one. Their church was beautifully decorated by Randi's mother Connie. Connie owns and operates Gardens of the Heart, and you could tell in the wonderful details. It was a very intimate ceremony with the lighting low and romantic.

We would like to thank Taylor and Randi again for allowing us to be a part of their special day. Congratulations again and best of luck.

Reed & Autumn

We had our first wedding of the year last weekend. Reed and Autumn are really good friends of ours and it was a pleasure to be able to take their wedding pictures. Their ceremony was here in Des Moines and close to our home which was nice. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we were able to take advantage and get some wonderful outdoor shots.

After the ceremony the party really got started and a good time was had by all...

...Especially Zac

We had a great time and want to thank Reed and Autumn Achenbach for letting us be a part of their special day.

Jon & Kelly Engagement Session

After our engagement session got rained out on Thursday night we were able to get it in on Sunday. It worked out better because we had fantastic weather. Jon and Kelly are both students at Iowa State University and we had the opportunity to take most of their pictures right on the beautiful campus. Kelly had already scoped out some locations and she has a great eye, and she certainly made my job easier! I have been able to complete some editing and I will post a few pictures here.

More to come later.
